Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, you’ve probably heard of the
massive social media website, Facebook. While you may already have a
personal account on this website, you may have taken another step and
created a page for your website and/or business. Now, you may be
wondering why no one is liking your page or why people really aren’t
communicating on it? Well, it could be due to a number of reasons, and to
help you improve your page, here are eight reasons your page may stink:

1 TOO MUCH COMPANY JUNK

Take a close look at all of your statues right now. What are they saying?
Are you talking about nothing but your company? If so, nobody wants that
junk filling up their Facebook wall! While it doesn’t hurt to talk about
your business here and there, you have to be entertaining! Don’t forget
about this.

2 NO PHOTOS OR MEDIA

People love to interact with cool things such as video and photos. If you
have nothing but a blob of text about a lousy sale you have coming up,
it’s going to shy people away. Try to interact with adding videos, cool
photos, infographics or something up. The key here is to break things up
a bit.

3 BE UNIQUE

People love to “like” things that are unique. You have to be unbiased for
a second and ask yourself why your page is unique? What are you doing
differently that no other company can do? If you’re already unique, then
you probably have to take it a step further and start marketing it
properly.

4 START A CONVERSATION

Try your best to interact with people that land on your page, and if
possible, let everyone vent their frustration. By doing this, you’re
going to find that other people will view your company as real. There’s
nothing more annoying than landing on a page that shows nothing but
positive praise. I don’t care what company you are, there are going to be
people that complain. When people complain, interact with them and let
them know what you’re going to do to fix the issue.

5 BAD IMAGES

Let’s say that you do have some images on your page. If you do, what kind
of images are you using? Are they blurry? Do they look bad? If
possible, make sure that you have a nice cover photo and also make sure
that the resolution is top notch. If you have to, consider spending a few
dollars on a good graphic artist.

6 NOT TAKING ADVANTAGE OF TABS

When people land on your page, try to capture their attention with the
tabs. These tabs can lead them to promotions, coupons, special events and
more. Since more and more people are hooked on Facebook, it’s important
that your page acts as a mini-website because you may find that people
won’t leave Facebook to visit your page.

7 NO BUSINESS INFO

Let’s say that someone does come across your page but there’s no way to
contact you. What do they do next? Make sure that you have an address,
phone number, email and more. The more contact information you have, the
easier it will be for potential customers to contact you.

8 NO MODERATE

As my last time, make sure that you watch over your wall. Try to make
sure that people aren’t posting spam, affiliate links or information that
could be seen as offensive. A Facebook wall that gets out of control
could turn some people off.
